White Lies

A wet night; a car crash; three lives are changed forever…

Sam Davenport is a woman who lives her life by the rules. When her husband Neil breaks those rules too many times, she is left wondering not only if he is still the man for her but also if it’s time to break a few rules of her own.

Actions, however, have consequences as Sam soon discovers when what starts out as an innocent white lie threatens to send her world spiralling out of control.

What readers have been saying

A Gripping Read’
If you have ever thought of straying from a marriage this is the perfect book to read and take note of the harm that it can do to so many people. This was such a gripping storyline and couldn't put it down. Well done Ellie Holmes on another brilliant read.

‘Good Pace, Excellent Plot’
This book had me hooked from the start! Good pace, excellent plot, characters I could empathise with - and a twist to the tale. All the requirements of a good read.

‘A Fabulous Read’
White Lies is an intriguing story, written with great insight into how and why people feel the need to deceive others, whether it's to protect themselves or to spare the feelings of others close to them and clearly showing how seemingly harmless lies can soon spiral out of control, impacting everyone involved.
This is a book that will have you questioning what you would do in the same circumstances and certainly proves to me that honesty is usually the best policy!
Ellie's talent for writing shines through in this book and she's fast becoming one of my favourite authors. I would highly recommend that you check them out, I know you won't be disappointed.
With kind thanks to author Ellie Holmes for the review copy.

‘Another Great Read from Ellie Holmes’
I read the Flower Seller last year and loved it. With White Lies Ellie has created another unputdownable read.
One night on a wet empty road a car hits a motorcyclist. Lawyer Neil Davenport is at the wheel, returning from his fortieth birthday party, wife Sam beside him. He’s been drinking. A drink drive charge could ruin his career. So what harm would it do to get his wife to admit she was behind the wheel? To tell a white lie?
Cleverly written and guaranteed to pull you in right from the start, it’s a definite five stars.
